SUMMARY:2023 North Central Aquaculture Conference
DESCRIPTION:The 2023 North Central Aquaculture Conference is scheduled for Friday (February 17) through Saturday morning (February 18) in Eau Claire\, Wisconsin. With 17 sessions and more than 50 presentations\, the conference is regarded as the premier research and industry event for aquaculture in the Midwest.Topics will include\, in part\, getting started in aquaculture\, developments in the bait industry\, shrimp\, percid and salmonid culture\, regulatory considerations\, aquaculture in K-12 education\, fish health\, fish feeds\, and more.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis conference is hosted by the North Central Regional Aquaculture Center (NCRAC) as well as the Minnesota and Wisconsin Aquaculture Associations. Registration is $150 through February 5. Participants can choose to attend only one day: $100 for Friday or $70 for Saturday morning. Registrations received after the deadline are not guaranteed a Friday lunch. Full registration includes two continental breakfasts\, snack breaks\, Friday lunch\, and the Friday evening social and banquet. The “Stop Spiny Prevention Campaign” is a regional effort to prevent the introduction of harmful invasive Spiny Waterfleas\, led by Douglas County Natural Resources Specialist Zach Stewart.  As part of this campaign\, Stewart offers educational presentations and specialized cleaning cloths throughout the four Lake Superior Counties\, and provides training for Clean Boats\, Clean Waters watercraft inspectors\, aiming to limit the spread of Spiny Waterfleas which can negatively impact Walleye and Perch fisheries.
